Austlift type 2 and 3 cable retractable blocks are required to be inspected annually (1 year)  by a competent person, the brake and shim needs to be changed every 2 years by a service agent. Type 2 webbing retractable blocks need to be inspected every 6 months by a competent person, no requirement to change shim and break but it can be done by a service agent if required.
